"World of Pub - the best sitcom in the world. Probably" offtelly.co.uk.

An East End pub. Two daft brothers. A typical Cockney wide boy. And a cast of wonderful eccentrics, played by some of Britain's finest comics. Welcome to the World Of Pub.

This hugely original, hilarious sitcom followed a well-worn route from BBC Radio 4 to TV (the same path as League Of Gentlemen and Little Britain), arriving on our screens in 2001. It has rarely been seen since, despite its rave reviews and cult following. Now, however, all that is set to change.

Second Sight is delighted to announce the DVD debut of World Of Pub, with the entire series being released on one disc on 18 June 2007.

A sitcom with sketch show sensibilities, it draws from the same talent pool that has informed some of the best British comedies of the past decade, from I'm Alan Partridge to The Office and Green Wing through to The Thick Of It.

It stars British comedy favourites, Phil Cornwell (Stella Street, I'm Alan Partridge) and Peter Serafinowicz (Look Around You, Spaced) as two brothers running the worst pub in the East End.

Each week they look to their friend and resident fast-talking wheeler-dealer Dodgy Phil (Kevin Eldon (Hot Fuzz, Big Train, Brasseye) for his help using an abundance of dubious ideas and an address book replete with unlikely contacts, always with hilarious but disastrous results.

The programme showcases the cream of British comedy, with Martin Freeman (The Office) turning up as various characters, as well as appearances from David Walliams (Little Britain), Simon Greenall (Alan Partridge), and Tamsin Grieg (Green Wing).

With its relentless gags and quick humour this is a great slice of British comedy not to be missed!
