A memorial ceremony is taking place next week to mark the 25 year anniversary of the Clapham Junction Rail Crash.
Survivors and relatives are expected to attend the service being held by the public memorial in Spencer Park, Trinity Road, Wandsworth, on December 12.
A total of 35 people died in the crash, while 500 people were injured.
The accident took place when a train from Poole to Waterloo crashed into the back of a stationary Basingstoke train which was stopped at a red signal.
A third train travelling in the opposite direction hit the wreckage minutes later.
An inquiry found the cause was wiring errors made by a rail worker, who had only one day off in 13 weeks.
It resulted in 93 recommendations for safety improvements as well as a curtailing on overtime culture.
The memorial has been organised by Helen York, Paula Williams and the Reverend Canon Hillary Johnson.
A small prayer service will take place at 8.30am for family and close friends only, followed by a larger public remembrance at 10.30am.
