He is described by police as of oriental parentage and is around two weeks old.
Local authorities placed the child with a foster carer in Hillingdon after he was found on Friday.
Scotland Yard is appealing for the public's help in tracing the child's parents after an oriental couple sought over the weekend were found and eliminated from police inquiries.
A spokesperson said anyone with information about Sonny or his relatives should call police on 0208 897 7443 or, to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
