The Commissioner of the Metropolitan police is travelling to Paris today as part of a new investigation into the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
The Princess died seven years ago after the car she was riding in crashed in the Pont d'Alma tunnel in the city.
Commissioner Sir John Stevens will be accompanied by the Royal Coroner Michael Burgess, together with detectives.
Mr Burgess has asked Sir John to oversee an investigation into the tragedy.
The group will meet with French police and retrace the route taken by Henri Paul, who was chauffeuring Diana and Dodi Fayed on the night of the crash.
All three of them were killed, with the sole survivor unable to recollect the crash.
Sir John will walk the stretch of road in the tunnel where the crash happened.
He is also expected to visit the Ritz Hotel, where the Mercedes limousine carrying Diana and Dodi set off from.
