The Liberal Democrats stormed to victory this week in the South Ruislip by-election.
Lib Dem candidate Oliver Curley won the seat left vacant following the death of Conservative Cllr Jim O'Neill last month.
Oliver Curley said: "I am humbled that the residents of South Ruislip have put such trust in me.
"I will continue my campaign to clean up the area and help provide real solutions to the problems of anti-social behaviour which have plagued local people."
Steve Carey, leader of Hillingdon Liberal Democrats, said: "Oliver has worked tirelessly for this result and deserves it. He will be an important and much needed addition to the Lib Dem Group which is now the largest Liberal/Lib Dem group in the history of Hillingdon Council."
Simon Hughes, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Mayor of London, who helped Oliver in his campaign said: "Oliver has won a fantastic victory which is a great omen for June 10th. Residents want representatives who will work very hard for their area. His campaign to clean up South Ruislip was spot on. The Liberal Democrats are committed to making London a great place to live."
The by-election results were: Oliver Curley (Lib Dem) 1,116, Graham Horn (Con) 899, Anne O'Shea (Lab) 526, Gareth Jones (BNP) 434, Graham Lee (Green) 86.
