Prince Charles has announced he is to marry his long-term partner Camilla Parker-Bowles.
A statement from the Prince's officials at Clarence House was released this morning.
The heir to the throne is expected to marry for the second time sometime in early April, although an official date has not been set.
Prince Charles' first wife, Diana, died in a car crash in Paris in 1997. They were divorced at the time of her death.
The Prince and Camilla first met in 1970 at a Windsor polo match.
Their relationship continued over the decades, and controversially, carried on during Prince Charles' 15 year marriage to Diana, The Princess of Wales.
The princess famously referred to Mrs Parker Bowles as one of the contributing factors in the breakdown of her marriage to Charles, publicly complaining that his friendship with her meant their were "three people" in the marriage.
Mrs Parker Bowles has been see at numerous events with the Prince in recent years prompting speculation they would eventually marry.
