PALACE are reportedly close to signing Watford winger Ismaila Sarr as Patrick Vieira looks to add to his attack.

Sarr is one of Watford's best players and has impressed since moving to Vicarage Road.

This season Sarr has already hit the headlines as got an assist against Sheffield United and then he scored from his own half against West Brom with a stunning strike, although he did go on to miss a crucial penalty in the same game.

Over the summer, Sarr had attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs such as West Ham, Leeds, Everton, Newcastle and Leeds. But now, according to Foot Mercato, Palace are pursuing a deal for the Senegal international.

The 24-year-old could command a fee in the region of £30million, which could make him the club's record signing, exceeding the £28m fee paid to Liverpool for Christian Benteke.

Last season in the Premier League, Sarr scored five goals and assisted two more in 22 appearances.

During the campaign, Sarr struggled with injuries which disrupted his ability to have a consistent run of games.
