A MUSLIM website designer who protested against cartoons of the prophet Mohammed is to face a retrial for inciting murder, the Old Bailey heard today.
Mizanur Rahman, 23, of Palmers Green, north London, was convicted last week of stirring up racial hatred during a march in London.
However, members of the jury were undecided on a second charge of inciting murder.
Rahman was among a crowd of 300 protesters who marched through the capital in anger at the publication of a cartoon depicting the prophet Mohammed in European newspapers.
The prosecution said he called for the deaths of British and American troops and encouraged "another 9/11 over Europe".
But Rahman denied the charges and argued he had got carried away, repeating chants being shouted by other protesters on the march.
He will remain in custody until January 2007, when the retrial is set to take place.
