Cult gameshow The Crystal Maze is making a comeback – as a new “immersive experience” in London.
It doesn’t look like the new format will be on telly unfortunately, unlike the programme that ran for six series on Channel 4 between 1990 and 1995 and was most famously hosted by Richard O’Brien.
But the prospect of a new live concept should still be enough to excite fans of the show craving its return.
So far little is known about what's happening.
On the The Crystal Maze website, an advert simply says: “A live immersive experience. Coming soon. Register now.”
Posts on an Instagram account recently set up under the name thecrystalmaze include the first one captioned “We have a Maze to build… #crystalmaze #immersive #thecrystalmaze #livegame #london”.
The next one shows a drawing captioned “Artists impression of things to come! #thecrystalmaze #immersive #live #livegame #london”.
And the latest post read: “We may have updated the uniform slightly… #thecrystalmaze #bomberjacket #jumpsuit #london”
Crowdfunding for the new project begins on June 14, when tickets will also be available.
