A teenage vlogger who nearly drowned doing a “stupid” stunt jumping off Tower Bridge appears to have learnt his lesson.
Faisal Shinwari, from Wembley, has more than 30,000 subscribers to his YouTube channel Carnage where he posts prank videos.
Last Thursday the 17-year-old decided to jump off the 65-metre bridge into the Thames – but it went badly wrong and he needed rescuing after almost killing himself.
After initially appearing stunned. Faisal was dragged along by the strong current before managing to drag himself to the bank, where RNLI rescuers pumped water out of his lungs and he was taken to hospital.
Faisal has described the stunt as a "suicide jump" and "probably the stupidest" video he has done, admitting he is "lucky" to be alive.
He has vowed to carry on making videos but pledged not to be so daft again.
He said: "I made quite a bad decision. I won't be quitting, I have built up a fan base, but I'm not going to do anything that extreme again."
Faisal has also promised his family he won’t risk his life again.
His dad Khan Zeb Shinwari told the Evening Standard: “When he first came home from the hospital he thought it was still pretty funny but from the reaction he received from me and the rest of the family - reality really sank in and he is so apologetic.”
