A two-year-old boy is fighting for life after a car ploughed into a wall in Purley.
The toddler remains in hospital in a critical condition today following the crash in Pampisford Road yesterday.
The car's driver, a 40-year-old woman, was also injured in in the crash near the junction with Christchurch Road just before 2pm.
She remained in a hospital in a stable condition this afternoon. A baby also travelling in the car, a Toyota Prius, was unhurt.
No other vehicles are thought to have been involved in the crash, a Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said.
Police said yesterday that a three-year-old girl had been seriously hurt, but confirmed today that the injured toddler was a boy.
Paramedics, an air ambulance and firefighers all attended following the crash, which forced the closure of the road for five hours.
Police today asked any witnesses to contact the force's serious collision investigation unit on 020 8285 1574 or via 101.
