ALTHOUGH opening track Aggro sounds about as scary as candy floss, the next one is a veritable belter.
Away From Here should see the recent hit 45 elevated to full-time festival anthem status by the end of the season. Brash, spunky guitars and singer Tom Clarke's urchin-drawl make no bones about their love of early Oasis, Jam and Costello that provide the cornerstones of The Enemy sound. But it's not the whole story.
The title track manages to use a brass section like a colliery band to decorate a classy kitchen sink drama of a song; while Pressure finds them mulling over their dad's Joy Division albums and Happy Birthday Jane is so Pulp you can feel the woodchip on the wall. Hardly a classic, but streets ahead of The Twang.
