IT has been nearly nine months since Newton Faulkner, former grunge purveyor turned melodic wordsmith, smashed on to the scene with the single UFO. He's made us wait, but this debut, all 17 tracks, is hugely impressive.
The catchy I Need Something comes early and is the first genuine hit, but all it does is set the listener up for the wondrous Dream Catch Me. This song, with its catchy melody, earnest vocals and foot-tapping chorus is likely to find success, having been played endlessly on Radio One.
The impressive Feels Like Home is followed by the pinnacle moment - a heart-stopping cover of Massive Attack's Teardrop, with Faulkner's gravel-like voice searing through.
Faulkner has won an army of internet fans. Now it's time for the limelight.
