Having worked with Britney hit-wrangler Max Martin more than a decade ago, Robyn knows a thing or two about knocking out pop gems.
But where her previous outings have leaned heavily on a hip hop/R&B tip, this self-titled set injects a sparkly shot of hi-NRG euphoria into proceedings that should see her scare up some serious chart action.
The synthpop symphonics of Who's That Girl recall a edgier version of Holiday-era Madonna's spritely early outings; while Konichiwa Bitches manages to aural foreplay out of make female empowerment and Bum Like You tells the lads they need to shape up.
The album is as much a construct as its countless (inferior) contemporaries - ProTools' hegemony prevails - it's just it's a hell of a lot more fun.
