Sleigh bells ring, carol singers sing and a festive cheer awaits racegoers for the two day Tingle Creek Christmas race meeting on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th December at Sandown Park Racecourse, and to celebrate we're giving away a family ticket as well as a meal voucher for each family member!

On Saturday 8th December racegoers will be greeted by the angelic voices of Thamesmead School in Shepperton singing a selection of Christmas carol favourites and will also get a complimentary mince pie on arrival!* A traditional Horse and Sleigh will be touring around the racecourse and picking up racegoers from Esher Train Station and bringing them to the racecourse* where the doors will be open to a winter wonderland of racing and family entertainment.

With only 17 days until Christmas there is a chance to visit Santa in his Grotto where all young visitors will be able to choose a gift from the Lucky Dip and make their final Christmas gift wish, plus Santa's little helpers will be on hand to entertain you whilst waiting. families can also enjoy the winter games such as competing against each other on the ski blizzard and impressing their friends on the Snowboard simulator ride - don't forget children under 16 get in for free (accompanied by an adult) and the crèche is free too!

Childhood favourite characters from the famous Raymond Brigg's books will be flying in for an appearance on the Saturday. The Snowman, the wintry hero who takes a young boy on an unforgettable adventure, will be present along with Raymond's famous Father Christmas character. Pingu the loveable penguin will also be seen waddling around and each character will be touring all over the course to ensure that everybody goes away with a Christmas smile on their face.

At the end of the day, racegoers will have the chance to listen and join in singing some festive Christmas Carols with the 'New London Singers', one of London's premier vocal ensembles and conducted by the legendary Ivor Settlefield. They have performed at many top London Venues and have won multiple prizes in national and international competitions - it is recommended highly that racegoers stay behind to listen to and join in with this amazing vocal ensemble.

The Tingle Creek weekend is widely credited as one of the racing calendar's top events and the demanding Sandown Park course attracts many of the very best horses and jockeys.

The feature race of the two days in the Grade 1 Tingle Creek Chase, named in honour of one of the greatest two-mile chasers of all time. The occasion is seen as an important test for runners looking to start at this distance later in the year at Cheltenham. 2008 will be no different as last season's unbeaten Kauto Star is tipped to attempt to make it three in a row at Sandown Park's prestigious meeting.

Sandown Park racecourse lies 15 miles south-west of London in Esher, Surrey and is easily accessible from all major roads and motorways and is also located next to Esher Station with regular services from London Waterloo, Putney and Clapham Junction, with the journey time only taking approx 25 minutes.
