The first part of a lengthy three-phase closure of roads that may cause disruption to an area of Epping Forest is due to begin on Monday.
A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian details the closures that are due to take place in Church Road, Trent Road and Osbourne Road, in Buckhurst Hill, for mains replacement works.
The first closure is set to start on Monday and last for 12 days in Church Road, from its junction with Trent Road to its junction with Osbourne Road, a distance of approximately 95m.
Phase two of the works is scheduled to begin on June 28 and last for 19 days. This will involve the temporary closure of Trent Road from its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 10m in a south-westerly direction.
The final phase of the closures is set to last the longest – a 26-day closure from July 19. This will apply to Church Road from its junction with High Road to its junction with Osbourne Road, a distance of approximately 90m.
Meanwhile, another order has been made for a series of phased closures in Waltham Abbey to allow for the installation of superfast cabling to take place.
The notice states the order was made on June 3 and may last for 18 months. It also allows includes the introduction of a temporary 30mph speed limit in the affected lengths of road, along with no waiting, loading or stopping restrictions.
The temporary closures will to the following lengths of road:
Avey Lane – from its junction with Pynest Green Lane for a distance of approximately 600m in a north-westerly direction.
Avey Lane – from its junction with Pynest Green Lane to its junction with Mott Street, a distance of approximately 650m.
Manor Road – from its junction with Avey Lane for a distance of approximately 290m in a south-easterly direction.
Manor Road – from its junction with Church Lane to its junction with Wellington Hill, a distance of approximately 320m.
Pynest Green Lane – from its junction with Avey Lane to its junction with Wellington Hill, a distance of approximately 390m.
Pynest Green Lane – from a point approximately 140m south-west of its junction with Forest Side for a distance of approximately 515m in a south-westerly direction.
Wellington Hill – from its junction with Pynest Green Lane for a distance of approximately 390m in a south-easterly direction.
Woodgreen Road – from its junction with Honey Lane to its junction with Southend Lane, a distance of approximately 435m.
Woodgreen Road – from its junction with Southend Lane for a distance of approximately 440m in a northerly direction.
Woodgreen Road – from its junction with Upshire Road for a distance of approximately 495m in a south-easterly direction.
