Four children have been sent home to isolate from a primary school in Eltham after testing positive for coronavirus.
Greenacres Primary School says it has "stringent risk assessments in place" to protect children and staff, and in each confirmed case the headteacher has reported it to Public Health England and the parents have been informed immediately.
The school, located in SE9 in the Coldharbour Estate, says that whilst cases this academic year have been minimal, over the last 14 days four children have tested positive for Covid-19.
All four children come from different year groups and aren't thought to be linked.
But a spokesperson for Greenacres, which is run by the Maritime Academy Trust, say this constitutes less than 1.5% of the school.
"Greenacres Primary School has stringent risk assessments in place to ensure our children and staff are safe.
"After each confirmed case, the headteacher has reported to the DFE who report to Public Health England.
"We have followed their directions exactly and informed our parents immediately."
Temple Hill Primary School in Dartford also sent a Year 2 group after one positive Covid-19 test, with parents and carers asked to collect the affected children at their "earliest convenience" this afternoon.
