THE first-ever 10 Ealing Half Marathon Ambassadors have been announced.
The ambassador scheme was created following an outpouring of support when it was revealed the race might not take place this year.
It is set to return on Sunday, September 26, but its future is still in the balance unless more people sign up to take part.
The popular Ealing event was cancelled in 2020 due to COVID restrictions and that has left a big hole in the finances.
Director Rachel Job said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the huge level of interest in our ambassador scheme and we can’t wait for [them] to start making waves and spread the word about Ealing Half Marathon and all we do.”
EHM Legacy is a Community Interest Company that ploughs surplus profits into projects that support physical activity and wellbeing.
Ealing Half Marathon is the flagship event but EHM Legacy also organises 10K events in Osterley Park and the popular monthly Ealing Mile.
Entries for the 2021 Ealing Half Marathon are now open. Refunds will be offered if the race is not able to go ahead. Runners can sign-up now at www.ealinghalfmarathon.com
The ambassadors are Alison Brandwood, Andrew Lawrence, Dan Sen, Helen Brennan, Jags Sanghera, Jaz Sandalli, Matt Peck, Megan Swanson, Rob Bull and Tasha Thompson, many of them Ealing residents and all race enthusiasts.
