A Swansea man has been charged with the murder of a 60-year-old who was fatally stabbed in Oxford Circus on Thursday (July 1).

25-year-old Tedi Fanta Hagos of Ravenhill, Swansea, was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon on Friday, and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court today (Saturday, July 3).

Emergency services descended on Oxford Circus Thursday night to reports of a stabbing on the busy commercial street, close to the junction with Regent's Street, around 8pm.

Met Police officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance.

A 60-year-old man was found with stab injuries and taken to hospital where he later sadly died.

His next of kin has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

Police meanwhile continue to appeal to the public as their murder investigation continues.
