A popular cafe in Biggin Hill has appealed for the public to identify thieves who broke in to their premises and stole their till.
The two male intruders entered Spitfire Café in Main Road at around 1am this morning.
The pair smashed the glass door to get in and then were caught on CCTV stealing the till.
The cafe is home to historic war memorabilia.
Sally O’Connor, who set up the cafe with husband Barry eight years ago, said she was "devastated" after hearing about the break-in.
The 53-year-old said the till was empty and luckily the Second World War memorabilia was safe.
The cafe has only been open a few weeks following the Covid lockdown.
Sally said: "We are obviously gutted.
"The most important thing is that no-one was hurt.
"But we do want to catch whoever did this.
"We are a small family business are are shocked this has happened."
The thieves are believed to have been travelling in a white van.
The till was later found dumped by Oaklands Primary School.
The response to the burglary assured Sally and her family of just how appreciated they are.
She said: "I’ve received so many comments with people saying they hope all is ok and that at least nobody was hurt.
"I think the café is a big part of the community."
Sally and Barry, who are from Orpington, are now considering installing shutters despite never being raided before.
"That will be such a shame," Sally said.
"We get people from the RAF Chapel and they can look through the window and see a bit of our collection."
Spitfire is open for business as usual and Sally said the family-ran cafe will not be deterred.
The Met Police said in a statement: "Police were called at around 01:54hrs to reports of a break-in at a cafe on Main Road, Biggin Hill, Bromley.
"Officers attended and found no trace of any suspects.
"Enquiries are ongoing; no arrests have been made."
