Eltham High Street closed off firefighters tackle coffee shop blaze (Paul Vince)
Around 25 firefighters tackled a fire in a coffee shop on Eltham High Street.
Smoke was seen pouring out of Costa Coffee shortly before 1pm, as customers fled onto the street.
Four crews from Eltham, Lee, Sidcup and Lewisham were able to bring the incident under control by 2.30pm.
Part of a staff room on the ground floor was damaged, but there were no reports of injuries.
Eltham High Street was closed off to keep the area clear. It has since reopened.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
