A woman has died after an ambulance crashed south of Redhill in Surrey this morning (Thursday, August 5).
The ambulance has reportedly been en route to hospital at the time of the crash, which happened at 9.20am on Thursday on Brighton Road, Salfords.
BBC Surrey reported that the ambulance crashed into a bus stop on Brighton Road.
Confirming details of the fatal collision, South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) expressed their "sincere condolences" to the family of the woman pedestrian involved:
"Following a road traffic collision involving a Trust ambulance and a pedestrian on Brighton Road, Salfords, at 9.20am today (05/08), we can confirm that sadly the pedestrian died at the scene.
"We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family involved at this difficult time.
"The circumstances of the collision are being investigated by Surrey Police and we are therefore unable to comment further," a spokesperson for SECAmb said.

Surrey Police are meanwhile appealing for information into the fatal crash, the second involving a pedestrian on Thursday morning in north Surrey after a man died in Epsom just hours earlier.
A spokesperson for the county police force said:
"We’re appealing for witnesses after a single vehicle collision involving a South East Coast Ambulance vehicle and pedestrian on Brighton Road in Redhill this morning (5 August). Officers attended alongside paramedics and the fire service at around 9.20am. Sadly, despite best efforts of paramedics, a 40-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from officers. Brighton Road is currently closed northbound and officers remain at the scene."
