A headteacher has said he is “exceptionally proud” of his students after achieving “fantastic results” in their A-levels.
Year 13 students at West Hatch High School, Chigwell, have seen the culmination of two years’ hard work in "what must be two of the hardest years of their schooling", headteacher Daniel Leonard said.
Students faced multiple lockdowns, isolations, and changes to courses and assessments.
Mr Leonard said: "We are exceptionally proud of the resilience and commitment our students have shown and congratulate them on achieving some fantastic results despite the disruption they have faced.
"Finally they are able to celebrate the end of their time at West Hatch and
contemplate their futures.
"We are delighted that so many of our students have achieved results that have enabled them to progress on to their desired future pathways.
"It is important to remember that the 6th Form is not just about academic outcomes, although clearly this is important, but it is also about preparing them for the next stage in their lives and our students have taken every opportunity afforded to them to grow as individuals."
