A motorcyclist has died and a female passenger has been left with "life-changing" injuries following a crash.
Police have said a collision took place in Ongar Road near Fyfield shortly before 8pm yesterday (August 10).
Essex Police say the crash, which happened near the junction of Herons Lane, involved a motorbike.
The rider of the bike died at the scene, while his pillion passenger is in hospital.
Police say she is seriously injured and have described her injuries as "life-changing".
Officers are carrying out enquiries into how the crash occurred and have launched an appeal for witnesses and information.
Ongar Road was closed through the night, reopening shortly before 5am.
Investigators are asking people who live in the area to check any CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage they may have, which captured the crash or the moments before and after it.
