A new housing development in Waltham Forest has seen significant construction progress as the tower block reaches its highest point.
Construction of the town centre development began in September 2019 and is due to finish in 2022.
The new 17-storey tower block at Juniper House, Hoe Street, will include 23 flats for social rent and 18 for shared ownership.
The development at Juniper House which previously housed Waltham Forest Council’s Children and Family services is set to include 50 per cent affordable homes and 3-4 bedroom properties suitable for families.
There will also be a 52 place pre-school nursery for children of the residents and the community, a play area and a new flexible commercial space and a pocket park.
The developer hosted a “topping-out” ceremony to mark them reaching a “significant milestone” on Friday, October 15.
Cllr Miller, who took part in the ceremony, said: "Having been involved in the regeneration of Juniper House from the start, it feels good to have reached this symbolic topping out point.
“It is extremely satisfying to be providing a whole range of affordable and family homes for local people as well as a nursery school, commercial space and a pocket park, giving a real boost to the area."
