On Friday 12th November, I was invited to attend a Remebrance Service held at Southwark Cathedral, to remember all the soldiers that lost their lives in battle and celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Royal British Legion.
The service was an hour long, which included readings from Sadiq Khan, members of the Royal British Legion and other significant authorities who were invited to this event. In addition to this, there were performances done by the London International Gospel Choir, and the Last Post played by Bugler from the Band of the Scouts Guards. This overall made the service a very remembrable experience.
Many members from different organisations and communities were invited to this event, such as Rashidat Hassan from the Muslim Council of Britain, Rajnish Kashyap from Hindu Council UK and Adrian Cohen from the London Jewish Forum, which emphasises the wide range of different cultures and backgrounds shared within the City of London.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time at this service, as I had the chance to meet and speak to many amazing people from a variety of different organisations, teams and networks. The service was a beautiful sequence of events to experience, and I would most certainly take a chance at attending next year.
