A Leytonstone born alternative rock band have been busy raising cash for a charity which specialises in keeping children affected by war safe.
The band, Happy Science, who have recently released a debut single have orgainsed a series of fundraiser activities to boost funds for War Child UK.
The rock group is made up of four members who are currently all residing in Leyton and was formed during lockdown.
They claim to be an “alternative to alternative rock music” and offering a “fuzz filled” and “modern pop” feel.
The four have made it their goal to prevent children from being torn apart by conducting performances and events throughout November.
The band played a live recorded performance exclusively as part of the fundraiser for War Child UK which premiered on the HotVox fundraising site on Sunday, November 14.
As part of the fundraiser, the band are selling exclusive merchandise and offers, including one-off t-sheets, handwritten lyric sheets, handwritten posters, private Zoom shows and private house gigs which will end on Tuesday, November 16.
War Child UK aim to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out and stay to support them through their recovery - keeping them safe, helping them learn and cope with their experiences, and equipping them with skills for the future.
The band have managed to raise £250 so far.
Daniel Connolly, lead singer of Happy Science said: “We’re in a privileged position as a band that are able to influence people and I personally will always want to use my position to help benefit others.”
