Reach Academy Feltham announces the launch of ‘Feltham College’ to parents at open evening-by Callum Court
On wednesday the 17th of November, Reach Academy Feltham announced the launch of the new ‘Feltham College’ to parents at a sixth form open evening.
The college, as part of the Reach Academy trust, will combine the expertise of multiple organisations into one unit for students to excel and explore subjects of their personal interest to provide ‘the very best in educational provision across both academic and vocational subjects’ as stated by executive head teacher Rebecca Cramer in the college’s official advertisement video. The college will be founded on ‘thriving partnerships’ with multiple organisations such as LEH, Kingston university and Hampton school. In particular, the college puts emphasis on its partnerships with LEH and Hampton which they state will help to enrich and support the college’s academic curriculum, ‘helping young people to realise their academic potential’ as stated by Kevin Knibbs the headmaster of Hampton School.
The college also emphasizes a varied curriculum including courses such as a vocational course in early education with an opportunity to progress to a foundational degree accredited by kingston university, a qualification in music supported by east london music academy, a health and social care with an opportunity to do training with a local NHS foundation trust as well as a professional catering qualification with support from industry professionals such as Jacob Kennedy.
Finally the college prides itself on it’s excellent pastoral support by providing academic tutors who will provide an excellent pastoral support system providing students with a sense of belonging and motivation in their subjects. Academic tutors will also help to lead students through their education by guiding students in their choices when help is needed.
Overall, the college, opening in September 2022, is much anticipated with the goals of rejuvenating a historically deprived area of the UK and in providing choice for young people in the area, allowing them to unlock their full potential.
