Liverpool hospital attack declared act of terror
A lethal act of terror occurred on in Liverpool when a believed terrorist attempted to explode a homemade explosive device in the hospital as the taxi arrived at the hospital's drop-off area just before 11:00 GMT,

The Liverpool police have retained the body and ‘strongly believe’ dead attacker to be Emad al-Swealmeen. The 32-year-old was on his way to Liverpool Women’s hospital, which he was staying within a few miles. Three other men 29,26 and 21, were also detained and arrested under the terrorism act, police stated. David perry, 59, a well-known taxi driver in Liverpool, was quick to spot this nearly disastrous act from al-Swealmeen, and quickly locked him in his taxi. Perry was lucky and a miracle helped him survive the tragic event, a hero.
“The motive was unclear”
Assistant Chief Constable Russ Jackson from Counterterrorism North West said the man who died in the blast brought his homemade bomb with him into a taxi and asked to be driven to Liverpool Women’s Hospital.
The UK terrorism threat level was increased to increase, with information such as to keep look out for any suspicious behaviour being advised. Government sources say this should not be taken as a wakeup call, as any further specific live threat as the motive is as stated, unclear.
The attacker was identified as Emad al-Swealmeen, who also went by the name of Enzo Almen, a Christian convert.
