The sea creatures at SEA LIFE London Aquarium have been getting in the Christmas spirit.
As we fish out the Christmas decorations, some of the aquarium’s most popular residents have been enjoying delicious treats to bring home the festive cheer.
It was Christmas dinner time for the green sea turtles, who had their first-ever taste of festive side dish, Brussels sprouts, as they tucked into giant stalks of the leafy vegetable under the watchful eye of the team of festively dressed expert aquarists.
Meanwhile, over in the Coral Kingdom section of the attraction, some of the Aquarium’s smallest creatures donned equally tiny Santa and elf hats with the help of a specially trained diver.
Further fun was had by the cheeky octopus, who enjoyed two new toys in the shape of Christmas crackers ahead of the big day.
The octopus, who recently joined the attraction, is often given exciting new toys to play with to keep her stimulated and loves to solve puzzles and play with a wide variety of items.
Everyone’s favourite SEA LIFE residents also revelled in the yuletide cheer over in Penguin Point, where recent additions, Raducanu and Gilbert, along with the rest of the Gentoo penguin colony, couldn’t get enough of their fishy treats.
Father Christmas was on hand to give out a frozen Christmas cake made of ice and decorated with sprat in the shape of a Christmas tree.
SEA LIFE London Aquarium, situated on the South Bank, is open seven days a week.
