A man has died in a flat fire this morning (Thursday, December 16) in North Finchley, the London Fire Brigade has confirmed.
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a blaze at a two-storey block of flats on Nether Street at around 6.50am.
All of a four-room flat on the first floor and the roof were destroyed.
A Met Police spokesperson said officers were called to the residential premises at 7am this morning and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

They added police are looking into what caused the fire and enquiries are taking place to inform the man's next of kin.
No arrests have been made.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 6.59am today (16 December) to reports of an incident at a residential address on Nether Street, N12.
"We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, an incident response officer, and our hazardous area response team.
"Sadly, a person died at the scene."
The service added that no one else was injured.
The fire was under control by 9.12am after crews from Barnet, Southgate, Mill Hill, Finchley and Hendon fire stations attended.
