This Is Local London:

In a spectacularly, astonishing street lies all the talented poets and artists Iraq has hidden, the ‘Al-Mutannabi Street’ was originally named after the 10th century classical poet who persuaded people to start to educate themselves with literacy and to start reading books in all different languages.

"This place is wonderful to see and visit,"- Rana Al-azawi 41

Moreover, this area was one of the first places to start a Book Trading post in the Metropolis at Baghdad. On the other hand, I visited this place during 2021 and discovered that there were famous singers who had not yet been identified publicly. It was a wholesome experience to also see artists who used peculiar, styled drawing skills to replicate a subject’s face in a few minutes.

Baghdad is often not paid attention to as worldwide new programs usually portray Iraq as an unfortunate place to live. However, in my opinion, Baghdad is a place to understand the reality of history and to see the ideologies of books created long ago.

During my visit to the ‘Mutannabi’, the place was packed with foreigners wanting to see the primeval shops and housing during not only the Ottoman empire but the time of the Abbasids. The Mutannabi yet again has put a jaw-dropping expression onto all our faces.
