The Met Police has closed four central London bridges whilst officers assess an unattended item in the South Bank area.
Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge have been closed along with Hungerford and Golden Jubilee footbridges.
Waterloo station and surrounding areas have also been evacuated.
The closures have seen traffic come to a standstill as major roads are forced to close.
A number of bridges in central London have been closed as a precaution while officers assess an unattended item in the vicinity of South Bank.

Please use alternative routes.
Southeastern rail said trains between London Bridge and London Charing Cross can currently not run 'due to a security alert'.
One Twitter user shared that "Southbank completely evacuated from the IMAX to St Thomas."
The Met Police have since shared on Social Media that the unattended item has been found and is not suspicious.
And that all road closures will be lifted imminently.
