A man has been sent to prison after stealing three bottles of whisky from the Marks and Spencer store in Bromley High Street.
Darren Hannington, of Burnt Ash Lane in Bromley, admitted to stealing the three bottles worth £88 on January 5, 2022.
The 48-year-old was jailed for four weeks and also fined £128 during a hearing at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on January 6, 2022.
The defendant was ordered to pay this surcharge to fund victim services by March 17, 2022.
He was not ordered to pay costs for the offence “due to lack of means”.
Hannington was sent to prison because he has breached court orders including suspended sentences and continues to offend, according to the courts.
This offence was “aggravated by his record of previous offending”.
