A temporary speeding restriction for drivers has been introduced to the Dartford Crossing due to strong winds.
A speed limit of 30mph has been put in place, cutting the original 50mph limit, on the bridge from Thurrock to Dartford.
National Highways (@HighwaysSEAST) tweeted last night (February 16) shortly after 8pm that two-lane closures were in place due to strong winds.
It was then shortly announced four minutes later that the closure of the lanes was lifted.
Two lanes were then closed again at around 9.50pm last night as winds started to increase.
The lanes reopened early this morning (February 17) shortly after 3.30am with speed restrictions remaining in place.
National Highways South East will continue to monitor wind speeds on the crossing throughout the day.
An amber weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for Friday, with forecasters predicting winds in excess of 50mph throughout the day in south east London.
