YOUNG adults are being given the chance to attend free expert-led career talks into a wide range of careers in the financial sector at the end of the month.
The programme is aimed at people of a “diverse ethnic heritage” aged 18 to 30 from across the UK and gives them “specialist guidance and insights” with virtual workshops, mentoring sessions and a downloadable toolkit.
People can drop into specific sessions or sign up to the full programme, which is being run by Blueprint for All and American Express from the end of the month.
On March 30, 2022, a virtual workshop on networking and personal branding will offer people guidance on how to recognise and promote their personal brand, use it to network with colleagues and open opportunities. Workshops will run monthly until the end of May.
American Express staff from the company’s Brighton and Burgess Hill offices are providing the hour-long workshops with insights about their own career journey and progression.
Meanwhile, the programme is also offering a mentoring scheme which will take place at least once a month for six months. The mentoring will give people a chance to have “one–to-one virtual mentoring opportunities to help participants navigate their way into the industry”.
Blueprint for All was founded in 1998 with a vision of tackling inequality in all its forms. The charity works with young people across several industries to help get them into employment.
