A person has died after being hit by a train at Denmark Hill station.
Emergency services were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks shortly after 8.15pm yesterday (March 22).
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Denmark Hill station at 8.16pm yesterday evening (22 March) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
