An "unexploded grenade" has been found in Sutton this morning (Tuesday).
Officers were called to the scene of the suspected unexploded grenade in Epsom Road at around 10.55am.
A cordon was put in place as a precaution.
Police say the device has now been made safe and the cordon has been lifted.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at 10:53hrs on Tuesday, 5 April to reports of a suspected unexploded grenade in Epsom Road, Sutton.
"A cordon was put in place as a precaution.
"The device has now been made safe and the cordon has been lifted."
