OJs (Orpington Junior) Badminton Club was established in 1965, situated in Orpington, to provide coaching for young people aged 8 and above. It has grown rapidly over the years and welcomes all young people. Badminton is an incredibly fun sport and is a great form of physical exercise. Orpington Juniors provides the support needed to develop your skill and enhance your performance.
There are a Series of prestigious try-outs at the beginning of the academic year to organize the students into classes dependent on their ability. Then at the beginning of September you meet all your wonderful peers in your class and your coach for the rest of the year. There is also always the possibility of moving up a class through the year if it seems you have massively improved.
The coaches are all amazing and support you in every way possible. They teach you how to make specific shots and how to improve your game tactics, which is a very important skill. The lesson is around 2 hours and during that time you may play a series of games along with other students. Everyone you meet is super friendly, and joining Orpington Juniors is a great way to make new friends whilst improving in badminton.
Mehul Vemula, a student at the club, has said “Badminton is really enjoyable at OJs and the coaches are really fun, we also get to play games at the end which makes the lesson much more interesting”.
OJs is a spectacular place to learn badminton and is a great way to have fun and make friends.
