Today my class and I went on a school trip to parliament. We first went to the Parliament Education Service, where we watched a film on the history of politics and learnt about the Bill of Rights. After, we were escorted into a gate and given a tour of parliament. We got a chance to go into the robing room where there were many historic portraits and were priviliged enough to go into the House of Lords, where we learnt about how to become a member of parliament, in the House of Lords as well as the House of Commons. We then went into the central lobby and learnt about the commitee rooms as well as the importance of getting your voice heard. Overall, it was a very educational trip and I definitely reccomend it for anyone who is interested in history and politics.
