A man from Orpington has been fined in court for carelessly driving a Toyota near Buckingham Palace.
Ettien Assemien admitted to steering the Toyota to its offside bringing it to the same lane as a police vehicle before carrying out a U-turn in front of the police vehicle which caused officers to brake to avoid a crash on May 19, 2021.
Assemien, of White Hart Road in Orpington, was ordered to pay £297 for the offence during a hearing at Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court on May 13, 2022.
This includes a £153 fine, £34 to fund victim services, and costs of £110.
The 49-year-old was given three points on his driving licence.
The fine for the offence must be paid in instalments of £50 per month starting from May 27.
