"Huge" crowds turned out for the return of one of Epping Forest's biggest community events.
The first Jessel Green Fun Day since 2019 took place on Sunday, with food, drink and craft stalls, Mr Happy, a Punch and Judy stand, live music and inflatables among the attractions.
Visitors praised the Loughton event on Facebook, with comments such as "Huge turn out for our local fun day. So good to see this back up and running and it was the busiest we've ever seen!" and "Amazing day! Was so busy and I’ve lived here 47 years."
Loughton town and district councillor Stephen Murray said: "Let’s always remember that it was only a massive community campaign well supported by local residents, Loughton councillors and the Epping Forest Guardian newspaper that saved our wonderful community green from becoming an Epping Forest District Council housing development.
"Thank you to the Loughton Town Council staff and others for organising this wonderful community event."
