A man from Croydon has been charged after a fence was smashed in during a disturbance on London Road.
Kamal Aamarawi, 31, is alleged to have used threatening language towards the owner of the house whilst reportedly ripping up their fence during the incident on July 5.
Aamarawi, from South Norwood, was charged on July 6 with one count of using threatening, abusive or insulting words to cause harassment, alarm, or distress and one count of criminal damage.
He is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on August 3.
No injuries were reported during the altercation.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Kamal Aamarawi, 31 (14.11.90), of Lawrence Road, South Norwood, was charged on Wednesday, 6 July with one count of using threatening, abusive or insulting words to cause harassment, alarm or distress and one count of criminal damage.
“He is due to appear at Croydon Magistrates' Court on 3 August.
“This follows an incident at around 16:50hrs on Tuesday, 5 July when officers on patrol in Thornton Heath were alerted to a disturbance in London Road.
“It was reported that a man was threatened by another man.
“No injuries were reported.”
