A main road through Loughton that was closed for emergency repairs is due to reopen this week.
High Road has been shut in both directions since July 13 after Thames Water discovered a “void” under the road while working on another project.
Essex Highways has said that the road is due to reopen on Friday, July 29.
The closure is in place outside Boots and Totally Wicked, with no direct access through High Road between Brooklyn Avenue and Station Road.

Essex Highways said, July 18, that the void has now been filled but the emergency road closure remains in place.
This is because the road still needs to be resurfaced.
The road will be reopened after it has been resurfaced, but Essex Highways has warned four-way traffic lights will be in place.
A bus was pictured struggling to turn back around in what Hilary Kruger described on Twitter as a “shambles”, which she said was due to poor signage ahead of closure.
Thames Water is responsible for the work.
