Firefighters have tackled a huge grass fire in Dartford Heath.
The fire broke out just before 9.45pm yesterday (August 3).
Seven fire engines and multi-terrain vehicles tackled the blaze.
The affected area is in the middle of the heath and measures around 100 metres long.
A picture from the scene shows bright orange flames billowing into the air.
No injuries were reported following the incident.
Hose reel jets, beaters and flexi-packs were used to extinguish the fire.
The blaze was under control by 12.15am.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are currently attending a fire in the middle of Dartford Heath.
“Six fire engines and a number of support vehicles have been sent to the scene to tackle the blaze.
“The area affected is in the middle of the heath and measures around 100 metres x 100 metres.
“Firefighters are working hard to contain the fire.”
A further statement from Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to reports of a grass fire on Dartford Heath, off Heath Lane.
“Seven fire engines attended, as well as multi-terrain vehicles, and crews extinguished the fire using hose reel jets, beaters and flexi-packs.
“No injuries were reported, and the cause is not known.”
