Police have released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a stabbing in Lewisham.

An 18-year-old man was found with stab injuries at a bus stop in Westwood Hill on August 8 at 7.12pm.

Police and London Ambulance Service crews were called to the scene.

A man was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

He remains currently remains in a critical but stable condition.

The footage was taken in Kirkdale just before the incident and police are now asking anyone who was driving in the area to check their dashcams to see if they captured anything that could help with the investigation.

No arrests have been made and enquires are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Spencer Thomas said: “We have released footage of a person we are keen to trace.

“The footage was captured in Kirkdale SE26 just before the incident.

"A young man was stabbed – and seriously injured – in broad daylight at a bus stop. I would urge anyone who witnessed this assault to contact us.

“I would also ask that anyone who was driving in the vicinity and has a dash cam to check the footage to see whether they captured something that could help our investigation.

“Any piece of information, whether you think it might be insignificant or not, could be vital."

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “A Detectives investigating a stabbing in Lewisham have released CCTV footage of a suspect they are working to trace.

“Police were called to Westwood Hill, SE26 at 19:12hrs on Monday, 8 August following reports of a stabbing.

“Officers attended with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and found an 18-year-old man with stab wounds.

“He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

“Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area, and who has yet to speak with police, to come forward.

“There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 6336/08AUG.
