A 23-year-old man has appeared at the Old Bailey accused of killing a man who was found collapsed in the street.
The victim, Abdul Rahman, 59, is believed to have died after being subjected to a violent assault.
Police had been called at 5.34am on Sunday after he was found collapsed in Station Road in South Norwood.
Paramedics attended and Mr Rahman was pronounced dead at the scene.
On Monday, Agash Jeyanandam, 23, of Stonecroft Way, Croydon, was arrested and then charged with murder the following day.
On Friday, Jeyanandam appeared in the dock of the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing before Judge Sarah Munro QC.
He spoke only to confirm his identity before the judge set a timetable for the case.
A plea hearing will take place on October 28 with provisional four-week trial from July 17 2023.
Meanwhile, a second defendant, Darren Parchment, 20, of Melrose Avenue, Streatham, south-west London, was appearing before magistrates in Croydon also charged with murder.
On Thursday, detectives arrested a third man, aged 23, on suspicion of murder who remains in custody at a south London police station.
