Greenwich: Met Police release images after attempted robbery on bus

At 4.25pm on Monday, January 31, an 11-year-old boy was travelling on a Route 469 bus between Abbey Wood and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

He was allegedly approached by a teenager asked for his phone before appearing to attempt to change its security settings.

The boy was able to retrieve his phone and left the bus.

Detectives have released an image of a teenager they need to identify and speak with.

Police say he is 5ft 6 inches tall and wore a peach coloured scarf with red, black and white lines on it.

He is said to be wearing a black jacket, light blue jeans, and white trainers – according to police.

Anyone who recognises him, or witnessed the attempted robbery, is asked to call police via 101 quoting the reference.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Detectives are appealing for information following the attempted robbery of a young boy on board a bus in Greenwich.

“At about 16:25hrs on Monday, 31 January, the 11-year-old boy was traveling on a Route 469 bus between Abbey Wood and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

“He was approached by a teenager who asked for phone before appearing to attempt to change its security settings.

“The victim was able to retrieve his phone and left the bus.

“Detectives have today released an image of the boy they need to identify and speak with.

“He is approximately 5ft 6ins tall and was wearing a black jacket, light blue jeans and white trainers.

“He also wore a peach coloured scarf with red, black and white lines on it.”
