Two men have been arrested after a robbery at a station in Erith.
A witness saw the robbery on the platform of Slade Green station, contacted the police, and then followed the suspects until they were detained by officers.
Before they were detained, the two men had also discarded a bag into a wheelie bin.
When this bag was searched, police found two large kitchen knives.
The men were arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
They were taken into custody.
Lewisham Police tweeted: “#Arrested.
“Great work by our Violence Suppression unit.
“2 Arrested for Robbery & possession of offensive weapons “Two males were arrested by VSU following a report of a robbery on the platform of Slade Green BR station.
“The informant witnessed the robbery and followed the two suspects until they were detained by VSU.
“Shortly before being detained, the suspects have discarded a beg into a residential wheelie bin.
“When searched, the bag contained two large kitchen knives.
“Both suspects have then been arrested for robbery and possession of offensive weapons and brought to Lewisham custody.”
