An e-scooter rider has died after a crash with a car in Brixton.
Police were called to Ferndale Road, near the junction with Nursery Road, at around 6pm on Saturday after the crash.
Paramedics were also called to the scene and a 53-year-old man was taken to hospital.
He died in hospital at around 8pm.
Police are currently working to identify the rider and inform his family.
The car involved in the crash stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.
Officers are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident and are asking for witnesses to come forward.
Anyone who has recordings of the crash on dash cam or mobile phone is also asked to contact police quoting reference number CAD5652/3Sep.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man died following a collision in Brixton.
“Officers were called at approximately 18:05hrs on Saturday, 3 September to reports of a collision involving a car and an e-scooter in Ferndale Road, near the junction with Nursery Road, SW9.
“London Ambulance Service attended and the rider of the scooter – a 53-year-old man – was taken to hospital. He died there at 20:00hrs.
“Work continues to identify and inform next of kin.
“The car involved stopped at the scene.
“There have been no arrests and enquiries into the circumstances continue.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who recorded events on dash cam or a mobile device, is asked to contact the witness appeal line on 02082851574.
